Happy Holidays Weekly Sitreps Readers!

We are so close to let’s circle back to this next year in Corporate America. I personally feel this after last week, where my last two brain cells were trying to remember all the things I had forgotten during my week-long cruise down to the US and British Virgin Islands.

This upcoming week for me is going to be exceptionally busy. Army Navy is next week and I have committed myself to a number of events during my time in D.C. On Friday I will be helping host the Warrior Class Army Navy Conference at Georgetown School of Business. We have an ALL STAR lineup (see below). Veterans…Repeat After Me…You Can Not Trust Corporate America

Sitreps2Steercos is known as the #1 place for veterans to get info on transitioning into high paying careers once they are done with their military service. I am a huge advocate for the opportunities and freedom that a career in the private sector (and by default corporate America) can give you.

However, you need to approach this opportunity eyes wide open and be cognizant of how much a corporation actually values you. Why am I talking about this now? The other week I was at Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School of Business as the guest of honor at the joint Veterans Gala/Winter Formal. I was chatting with a veteran who was the organizer of the event and he was extolling to me how excited he was to join the company he interned with this past summer. He was talking about how stable they were, how long they have been around, how the veterans he knows there love working at the company etc etc.

As we were walking, I stopped and looked at him, and told him this.
